Friend of the forest,

Join us tomorrow, February 6, 2024, at 6:30 PM for an exciting webinar introducing Virginia’s Habitat Connectivity Hub!

Developed in collaboration between Wild Virginia and the Virginia Safe Wildlife Corridors Collaborative, this innovative StoryMap experience was created to make wildlife-vehicle conflict and habitat connectivity data more transparent and accessible for anyone in the state.

Do you want to know where to find information on high-risk zones for wildlife-vehicle conflict near you? Or find the latest research on this conflict’s mitigation? And know about your local infrastructure’s connectivity status? All this information and more can be found with our Hub! This webinar will take you through the basics of what you can find on the Hub and how to use it for your connectivity needs.

Take a look at the Hub before the webinar: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/7d09dfd6b426487eb50ac75bb01d81ef

In other habitat connectivity news: Thank you to all those that advocated for the passage of Senate Bill 455 to establish a Wildlife Corridor Grant Fund!! It unanimously passed the Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee hearing last Tuesday! Our work is not done, but this is a huge bipartisan step in the right direction!

Stay tuned for more advocacy efforts to get this bill across the finish line. In the meantime, attend our Habitat Connectivity Hub 101 Webinar to learn all about VA connectivity information to make your advocacy more effective!
